Important Information

Dear participant,

We are approaching the start date of the 20^th IUPAB Congress, the 45^th Annual SBBf Meeting, the 50^th Annual SBBq Meeting, and the 13 Congress of SBBN. The meeting will take place from October 4^th to 8^th, 2021, in entirely virtual mode. We would like to share with you some general information regarding your participation.

General Information

Access to the congress virtual platform

All meeting activities will be carried out through the Mitte platform, accesible from your restricted area. It will be necessary to log in with your username and password. The access tutorial is published on the event homepage at https://iupab2020.sbbq.org.br/access-virtual-event_564 Participants with unpaid registrations (except those awarded with free registration) will not have access to the platform, and their abstracts will be canceled.

Opening/Closure sessions

The opening ceremony will start on MONDAY (October 4^th) at 9 am (UTC-3)

The closing ceremony will be on FRIDAY (October 8^th) , starting at 2 pm (UTC-3).

Language: The conferences, symposia, and poster sessions will be in English. All slides (or equivalents) will also be prepared in English. Few exceptions will be indicated in the program.

Poster sessions

The digital posters and accompanying videos will be exhibited simultaneously during all days of the meeting and can be viewed at any time.

There will be 2 days for poster presentation on October 5^th and 7^th. The presenters are expected to be logged in the platform during their respective poster section and interact with the audience using a chat interface (typing only).

Please verify your poster number in the restricted area and the poster session to which it is assigned. For that, enter the main menu and click “Result of evaluation of papers” (example below):

Poster Prizes

The posters presented during the meeting that opted to run for the Poster Prize will be evaluated by a committee of specialists. The best posters will be nominated to receive a certificate of Best Poster.  The results will be announced in the closing ceremony. The posters will be evaluated according to the following criteria: i) originality and relevance of the work to the research area; ii) visual quality of the poster and its ability to transmit the information, iii) ability of the participant to present the work and discuss the results.

IMPORTANT: The participants that are not online during the indicated period will be disqualified.

FUNDAPE-SBBq Award for the Best Poster in Molecular Biology presented by a Graduate Student

The Award winner's result will be announced in the closing ceremony.

SBBq Multicenter Graduate Program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (PMBqBm)

The activities for students’ and advisors’ activities of the Multicenter Program will start on September 27^th  and will be broadcasted in the YouTube channel (https://iupab2020.sbbq.org.br/programa-multicentrico_563). The detailed program is available at website. The sessions will be in Portuguese.

ExpoSBBq

A distinguished fair displaying equipments, products, and research services will occur in parallel to the meeting program, including the presentation of technical updates and short courses offered by the participating companies.

SBBq-Cytiva 24^th Young Talent for Life Sciences Award: The Award winner's result will be announced in the closing ceremony.

Certificate delivery: The participation and work presentation certificate will be available in the restricted area 5 business days after the event ends.

Abstracts book PDF: It will be published on the Congress page.

Biophysical Reviews (IUPAB Journal) – a Special Issue (SI) on the activities of our IUPAB Congress will be published in mid to late December of 2021.

The SI will contain review articles from several speakers, sessions commentaries, and a supplementary section detailing the program and abstracts.
