She is a native of Colony-Germany, where she received her undergraduate and PhD degrees, Gronenborn did her postdoctoral work with protein NMR pioneer James Feeney at the NIMR-London. In 2004 Gronenborn moved to the University of Pittsburgh to head its department of structural biology. She is member of the National Academy of Sciences USA and of the American Academy of Arts and Science USA, Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and Germany Academy of Sciences. |
